About

I want to bring constructive change to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I am a tithe paying member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am not an orthodox member. I do not believe in the supernatural claims of the Church.

I do not believe Joseph Smith literally saw God the Father or Jesus Christ. I do not believe the Book of Mormon is a literal record of actual events. I do not believe that the Prophet today speaks with God.

Why don’t I leave the Church? Leaving the Church would be like sawing off my arm with a blunt knife. My family, neighbors and culture are all wrapped up in the Church. I don’t want to leave all of that. It would be incredibly painful to leave, and besides, I believe I still have something to give the Church, and can be emotionally fulfilled by being a member.

The Church has some really good things going for it. There are some very good values that it does teach. Rather than work to destroy the Church, I want to change it for the better.

The Church will be better the closer it aligns itself with objective truths. The Church has shown itself remarkably responsive over time to external and internal criticism. On this site, I want to critically highlight areas where the the Church should change in a respectful way.
